Sarah Jessica Parker, actress, producer, and designer has been associated with the fashion industry since 2003. Her Character, Carrie Bradshaw on the show ‘Sex and the City’ was iconic for her glamorous high-end looks which prompted brands like Garnier to have her as the face of their brand before she started her own line of affordable clothing and accessories called ‘Bitten’. In 2003 SJP signed with GAP and became the first multi-season face of the brand until 2005. Their reason for signing Sarah Jessica Parker was that she is famously known for her glamorous look, an iconic but contemporary face to represent GAP, giving them a new fresh face that appeared in commercials, online, print advertisements, and promotions.

13 Years on from her collaboration with GAP, she has teamed up with the global high street brand once again and produced her own limited-edition clothing line for children launching this March 2018. Both her childhood and her own children, Tabitha, Loretta, and James, inspired the line of classic prints, Gingham, Stripes, and Florals, enlisted help from them when crafting the collection. When asked about her inspiration behind the affordable apparel, she said,

“I’m a mother, and I have to get three kids out the door every day. I’m one of eight kids so I know how my mother managed. I grew up in a house where we all wore hand-me-downs and those bins of clothes still exist. My daughters wore the dresses I wore – those clothes have been passed along to friends and our babysitter’s children when they give birth.”

Sarah Jessica Parker has not only made her line of clothing personal to her by using family rituals such as “Rabbit, Rabbit” stitched onto the back of a jacket (which is a term Parker and her family would use as good luck) but also references a ritual a lot of families do, sewn into each tag reading ‘property of’. She shared “Creating this collection with GAP has been such a treat as a mother, as one of eight children, and as a reconnection with the brand. I hope the pieces are cherished by the children who wear them, that items are passed down among generations, and that some great memories are created while wearing them.” She shared “Creating this collection with GAP has been such a treat as a mother, as one of eight children, and as a reconnection with the brand.
