You cannot think of Julien MacDonald without thinking glamour, which is safe to say still a great deal of the brands ID at the F/W’15 show this Saturday during London Fashion Week. Julien MacDonald presented a collection full of black lace, silk, cut-out dresses, long black leather gloves and deep rich coloured dresses. The models walked down the catwalk with a sleek wet-look styling to dark electronic music. The British designer has a history of letting himself being inspired by specific destinations, found his inspiration this year at the Tower of London. He explained how the diamonds and rubies inspired the choice of deep colours and the cuts and pattern work are reflections of the Puppies there. The British tone in MacDonald’s collection was underlined by the British flag you could glimpse through the glass roof of the catwalk. So after a few seasons of seeking inspiration abroad it seems that Julien MacDonald has returned to the Kingdom.
