While most 15-year-olds are just trying to snap the perfect selfies, French model, Thylane Blondeau, has already been a high fashion model for over 10 years. Although it hasn’t always come without controversy (many people believed that her appearances in French Vogue and Jalouse were inappropriate given her age), Thylane is here to say that she’s ready to take on the world. And we think she’s going to be huge. She walked the Jean Paul Gaultier runway at the tender age of 4 #TBT.

Now she’s gracing the pages of Teen Vogue and has signed with IMG Models, one of the biggest international model agencies, home to our favourite supermodel stars such as Karlie, Gigi, Lara Stone, Joan Smalls and Georgia May.

She doesn’t feel she’s too young to have reached the stage that she is at now. Blondeau, who lives in Marseille and whose father is French footballer Patrick Blondeau, is set to star in a film, Belle & Sebastian 2, and also has her own YouTube channel. In a video revealing 25 facts about herself, the confident teenager discloses that she hates salads (but loves fruit), loves spending her weekends in St Tropez and is a diminutive 1m64cm in height.

If she doesn’t reach catwalk proportions, we’re sure we’ll see a lot more of her piercing blue eyes in fashion campaigns over the years to come – that’s if she doesn’t hit the big time in film world.

Blondeau checked a major career milestone off the list: making her red carpet debut at the Cannes Film Festival this year, mastering a look that was both playful and sophisticated. At the premiere of “The BFG,” she wore a Delphine Manivet dress, Caumer jewelry and Alexandre Birman sandals, accented with a playful Jimmy Choo clutch; the look was Cool Teen-appropriate yet glamorous, thanks to the modest, mullet-hemmed gown and a natural beauty look.

While IMG generally waits until its models are 16 to book them for runway jobs, it’s not uncommon (especially for European brands) to hire girls as young as 14 for their shows. Regardless of whether Blondeau decides to hit the catwalk circuit soon or not, this weekend’s debut certainly heralds a new teenage chapter to her busy career — one red carpet down, many more to come.

The striking blue-eyed beauty is amassing quite the Instagram following, follow her feed so you don’t miss a beat. We promise that when it comes to Thylane’s career, things are about to move very fast.
