TASCHEN ANNOUNCES NAOMI CAMPBELL ANTHOLOGY.

The latest Collector’s Edition book.

Supermodel Naomi Campbell is teaming up with Taschen for a new limited edition book, showcasing the highlights of her highly lauded fashion career. The project is titled The Art of Beauty and comes in two volumes, totaling 496 pages. Volume One comprises of fashion photography from throughout Campbell’s time as a supermodel, while Volume Two is more autobiographically focused.

The beauty, the face and the body, for more than 30 years, Naomi Campbell has broken boundaries and dominated the world of modelling, and now she’s being immortalised by publishers Taschen in the ultimate tome about her life and work. The signed, limited, two-volume Collector’s Edition, sees archive photographs of Ms. Campbell by fashion’s favourite photographers, such as Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, Richard Avedon, Steven Meisel and Paolo Roversi in a book that spans the 80s, 90s and 00s.

Of course this is Naomi Campbell we’re talking about, so this is no ordinary book. Limited to 1,000 signed copies, The Art of Beauty Volume 1 comes in an acrylic box designed to evoke Campbell’s form, designed by Allen Jones. As you might expect it’s not cheap, retailing at £1,250 on the Taschen website, making it a serious fans-only piece.

British artist Allen Jones, the one who made the boxes, says that he made them “not to illustrate Naomi, but to encapsulate her.”

Naomi comments: “This Collector’s Edition is a timeline of my career, and has allowed me to remember and give credit to all the wonderful people I’ve had the pleasure of working with over the years. It took quite a few years to put together, because we didn’t want to rush it. It was important both to Benedikt Taschen and I to find all of my pictures and compile them into two really beautiful books…The result is a dream come true.” We LOVE it!!

Cop the book on Tashcen’s website.

Naomi has spoken out in support of our beloved Ashley Graham, following Cheryl Teigs’s comments last month criticising Graham’s appearance on the cover of Sports Illustrated due to her size.

Naomi Campbell is one of the most well-known supermodels of our time, and with 30 years of runway experience under her belt, the 45-year-old British beauty knows a thing or two about the industry.

So when Sway Calloway brought up the recent controversy between Cheryl Tiegs and Ashley Graham (you know, when Tiegs criticized Graham’s “full figure”) during the model’s appearance on Sway in the Morning today, Campbell expressed that a beautiful woman like Graham should be able to model regardless of her size.

“I would never make a comment like that. I think it’s way too personal. I don’t know what Ashley eats and that’s not necessarily because you’re bigger than me, you’re eating tons of food. I’ve got tons of friends who are bigger,” she said.

“It could be a hormone problem. I don’t think Ashley’s big like that. She’s not a beast. I think sometimes our bones are bigger and we’re just built that way. That doesn’t mean we’re fat. I wouldn’t comment on someone’s size. I just think it’s wrong. I think she’s a beautiful woman, regardless what color or creed. She should be able to model.”
