Mirabilia Romae is Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli’s invitation to a journey of discovery of the true sources of inspiration of their Valentino creations.
The title is inspired by Mirabilia Urbis Romae, the first tour guides, written more than one thousand years ago by pilgrims to share the marvels of the eternal city. These manuscript guides, which were passed down as precious relics, often contained personal notes, fantastic impressions and deductions regarding the city’s monuments, thus transforming a journey’s tale into a metaphysical experience.

THE SETTING
During the fashion show, the historical context of the square, used since the Baroque for ephemeral installations on the occasion of great events, is transformed into a truly immersive installation, thanks to the intervention of the artist, Pietro Ruffo, who will augment the perception of space by multiplying the levels. The elements of the installation are also inspired by Roman history, its complexity and its infinite facets, but they also suggest a new way of viewing the city’s identity, projecting it enthusiastically toward the future.
